02 - Metal Stitching Technology - Level 2 Intermediate (MST-L2)

This intermediate course is for those who have completed our Metal Stitching Technology Level 1 Foundation Course and seek to be MST Certified Professional (MST-CPRO) or MST Certified Engineer (MST-CENG) for specific technical roles.

02 - Metal Stitching Technology - Level 2 Intermediate (MST-L2)

Who should attend:
Certified Associate (MST), Certified Practitioner (MST) or Certified Technicians (MST).

Introduction:
This is a Level 2 intermediate training course.

In this course, you will acquire the following knowledge as follows:
- Learn about our methodology, process, products, application, and support to build your Metal Stitching Technology knowledge in working with other materials such as cast steel, aluminum, stainless steel and bronze.
- Learn and understand various NDT techniques, e.g Liquid Penetrant Testing, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Ultrasonic Testing and X-ray to deploy when performing complex damage assessments to check for surface and sub-surface defects.
- Learn to interpret and evaluate results, investigate, perform root-cause failure analysis and generate incoming inspection reports.
- Learn various metal stitching repair methods. Use of metal interlocking pins with stacked locks, stacked or full-bodied locks with sealing pins, reinforcement pins with sealing pins for cast steel, aluminum, stainless steel, bronze crack and fractured repairs.
- Selection of appropriate sealants and retaining compounds based on application, operating pressure, operating temperature, medium, etc.
- Learn and understand how to perform metal surgery and reconstruction.
- Learn and understand the use of various portable machining machines (milling, boring, drilling, threading, tapping, CNC thread milling) its limitation, machining tolerance, finishing quality, etc.
- Able to receive specific instruction or supervision from MST Level 3 personnel.
- Learn how to exercise assigned responsibility for on-the-job training and guidance of trainees and MST Level 1 personnel.

This is also a pre-requisite course to help the participant to prepare for the Metal Stitching Technology Certified Professional or Metal Stitching Technology Certified Engineer exam.
Blended Training : 36 hours
Application Method : 24 hours
Total Duration : 60 hours

Upon completion of the course:
- The participant will be issued a certificate of completion (Metal Stitching Technology – Level 2 Intermediate)
- The participant will have access to our member portal for the purchase of our MST standard repair products.
- The participant will be able to apply for the MST Certified Professional (MST-CPRO) or MST Certified Engineer(MST-CENG) exam.
